Vista Profile Question

I have several users who upon logging in one day, their desktops were back to default settings. Upon research it seems that Vista for whatever reason suddenly decided that their profile needed to not be under \users\%username%, but under \Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\...

Anyone ever seen this happen or know what causes it?

having "several users" sounds like theres more then just the users with access to the terminals
