Vista problem help find old file

I recently installed vista, and now I want to find my old files that I had in XP, the old.windows folder doesn't contain all the music I had, is there any way to find my old Documents folder?

I've never done an upgrade, but I was under the impression everything was moved to the Windows.old folder. This is one reason why I never use the "My" folders, and always keep my data on a separate drive/partition. If you remember one of the songs, do a search for it, and see what turns up.

Go into the control panel and change the Folder Options to show file extensions, hidden files, and system files.

Vista wouldn't find hardly any of the files I was looking for at first until I did this.. even after I made it index all my drives.

I still find it unlikely that an MP3 would be hidden (unless Vista just hid everything with the old installation), but if it worked, that's all that matters!
