Vista Printing issue

Mods please move if need be...

So I installed vista ultimate 32-bit on my wife's laptop and all is well except the printer. The printer is an HP psc1210v and drivers from hp come with vista. I am convinced this is a driver issue but let me know your thoughts.

So whenever text prints it prints just fine. When a picture or any sort of graphic is printed about .5 cm horizontal shifts are made distorting the picture. This only happens on fast draft and best qualities. My wife makes custom greeting cards and needless to say not using best quality is not an option. When printing over the network from my computer(see signature) in vista 32-bit or xp 64-bit I get the same issue that did not happen before. When connecting the printer directly to my computer the xp printing is flawless and the vista 32-bit gives the same result. As I have tried the 64-bit version of vista the drivers do not exhibit this issue with 64-bit vista. its a very odd quirk.

Any suggestions for this?

Can you check the settings of the driver, or perhaps reinstall the driver? I have the same printer, and I'm using it on the system in my sig, running Vista Ultimate x86, and I don't have any issues.

I'd be sure to make sure HP hasn't already released an update. Other than that check the page setup for printing.

I'm a designer and have a decently priced canon i sue for mundane office tasks and some image processing. So far I've been able to do photo's, brochures, textual and graphical printouts without much issue in Vistax64; though I have had to adjust margins, and what not, in the page setup.

I checked HPs site and there was nothing to download... they just say that the driver has come with vista. I'm not sure what settings of the driver I should look at. I can post all the settings as they currently are if that will troubleshoot things a bit more quickly.
