Vista networking issue

Ok I just purchased a laptop that has windows vista and wireless networking. My other 2 computers have xp and are wired networking. I have dsl and am using a linksys wireless router that has 4 wired ports. Here is the problem I have the laptop able to connect to the internet but it cant access the files or printers on my wired network how do I go about setting this up to do so.

In the Network And Sharing Center have you enabled Sharing and Discovery of File Sharing and Network Discovery?

Yes they are all on but do I have to set something up on the xp computers?

Have you tried pinging the XP machines on the network?

Vista has some security enabled by default, firewall and antispyware/basic worm protection.

Gotta either configure a passthrough or disable entirely.

I don't remember details, I've only got a few customers with Vista. I've only set it up once.
