I have a Pinnacle PCTV HD PCI tuner (800i), I have my comcast cable connected to it, and with the Pinnacle program it works i get all the channels i do if i were watching a regular TV. But when i try and use Vista Media Center i get the blue "Loss of signal" Screen. I can't seems to find anything that will tell me what is wrong. I know i have a signal as i can watch TV with the Pinnacle program. Anyway I have been searching all over for the past couple days but i cant find anything. Any Help will be welcome.

Also, I think its is a hybrid tuner so and i think i've read that that is what is causing my problem but i do not know and can not find anything on how to correct it.

I've had that problem before and I had to reinstall the drivers. The horrible thing was that I would have to reinstall the drivers every now and then until I completely reinstalled Windows.

You may also need to reinstall your video drivers if you're going through a video card.

try out mediaportal, its very versatile. it takes a little time to set it to your likings but its stable. plus i think you can add something like 4 pvr cards.
there is also a plugin where you can use the windows green button to start mediaportal,
hope that helps

Mediaportal is very good. I would recommend it, as well.

Well I was hoping to get Vista MC to work because i wanted to be able to stream the tv signal to my X-box since i do not have an available cable hookup in my room.

My PC has been acting strange anyway so i am just going to do a full reinstall and see what happens.

thanks for the help, if all else fails i will check out media portal.

i use vmc everyday, VMC + mymovies has provided to be a good frontend. check out the green button for more information.

I use 2 HDhomeruns for HD QAM tuning and i have 2 1800 pvrs for SD content

Try uninstalling the Pinnacle program and pinnacle drivers. Reboot. Then reinstall the pinnacle drivers and go through the Media Center TV Signal setup wizard again.
