vista killed my router?

hey all... i have a netgear wireless router that i use just as a wired router(got it at best buy for cheaper then wired router ) i have the radio turned off... I’ve had it for about a year now... and just the other day i was transferring a 700mb file through the router from an xp machine to my main box w/ vista and i got an icon on my vista saying a network wire was disconnected... i checked the router and it looked frozen... so i reset it... unplugged it.... left it off for 24 hours... nothing worked... did it just go bad ? or did vista break it because I’ve heard other people having similar problems...

Your pc's os shouldn't be able to break your router. I personally haven't had much luck with Netgear's home routers. I've only dealt with two, but both failed early on. It is probably just a coincidence, but I stay away from them anyway.
