I finally finished my first build and installed Vista Ultimate 64-bit today. Vista is new to me... I noticed in the bios that both of my HDDs (150 & 500 GB drives) are showing, but when I installed Vista on my 150 GB Raptor (I want the 500 GB for data storage only), I do not see the 500 GB HDD showing within Vista.

Why don't I see the 2nd HDD in Vista, yet I can see it in the bios? Do I have to configure something differently in the Vista setup? FWIW, the 500 GB is brand new.
 
Go under computer management then disk management and create a partition and format then it will show up..
 
right click my computer
computer management
left pane, bottom option disk management
If you dont have partitions its mostly likely Disk 1
 
Thanks guys for your help, I got it all set now.

My time at home is very limited so I haven't spent much time with this OS yet, but I felt like a fish out of water for the first hour with Vista... I guess I expected the transition to be a little smoother.

Isn't this exactly what you have to do in XP when you install any new hard drive (or install the OS with an unformatted HDD)?
