Vista icon rollover effect

Is there any way to remove the highlighted box around the desktop icons when you roll the mouse of them in Vista?
 
Yes, but if you're using Aero, you won't like what it does to the rest of your GUI. I promise you.

OK, follow these steps.

  • Right click in my computer, go to properties.
  • Click Advanced system settings.
  • Under performance, click settings.
  • Under Visual Effects tab, scroll all the way down and un check the very last box. Apply it.
  • See that I was right and you wasted your time.
  • Come back here and post "bigdogchris, you were right."
