Vista: How to edit the config.nt file

Just as the title asks.....i need to edit the config.nt file in windows/system32 and it will not let me save any changes i make to it. I need to change the files=40 to files=100 for a dos app we use at work.

Run notepad as administrator and then open the file inside notepad?

I don't even see a config.nt in my system32 directory...

Copy the file to a temp directory and edit it there, then copy the file back to its original location. I did it that way, it worked.
