I recently got vista and was wondering about DX10, do I need to do anything to use DX10, download anything etc? Fill me in here im a noobie

also how come those cool vista games aren't on here like chess, minesweeper and that inkball...where do I get them, once again im a noobie

#1 You need a vid card that supports DX10 to have the benefits of it in games. Radeon X2x00 series and GeForce 8x00 series. You also need a DX10 compatible game to use it but there is a complete lack of games that support it right now, even though there are patches in the works that will add features to current games. It is built into the OS so there is nothing to download. Though a new version of DX9 is out with bug fixes so you should prolly download that from MS.

#2 You need to add the games if they weren't installed. Go to Control Panel>Programs>Turn Windows Features On or Off>Check Games checkbox>Click Ok

home premium, and I have an 8800gts

If you have the classic view enabled in the control panel then the procedure is somewhat different but similar.

Hmm, maybe the EU objected to Vista shipping with games, and this poor fellow got the result of that...
