Vista Cannot Sleep

Hey everyone...

I can't seem to get Vista to sleep. When it "does", I turn it on, and it can't even post. Just keeps restarting. I don't seem to have this problem hibernating or turning it off like normal.

In the BIOS I have it running on S3 power savings mode -- HPET enabled, 32-bit.

I'm also running SP1 (could this be the problem?)

I had the same problem and it turned out to be the wake from USB option in CMOS setup. Now sleep works perfectly for me under Vista SP1 (it did the same before I installed SP1, so I used hibernate instead).

It may also be one of the network adapter or USB (root hub) power options in device manager. Try enabling the check box on those devices to allow Windows to shut down each device to save power.

Yep... I am overclocking... My sig should show what I've done and my system specs:

I've added 0.1v to FSB, (G)MCH, and PCI Express for overvoltage settings. +0.3v for DDR-2 to meet the EPP profile established by Corsair.

^^ I haven't tried the suggestion from the post above me, but I'm on it.

It didn't seem to work. I can't find the USB option in CMOS, and I did try checking all those network adapter and USB boxes.

I had the same problem with my -DS4, it would sleep then when you tried to recover it would reboot endlessly. Never did find a fix, just disabled sleep in Vista. If you find a fix, please post back in here.

It didn't seem to work. I can't find the USB option in CMOS, and I did try checking all those network adapter and USB boxes.

That USB option is in the device manager under each Root Hub.

I had the same issue with sleep intermittently not working properly until I enabled the option to allow the computer to power down the USB root hubs.
