Vista Basic Help...

Ya, I know, the first solution to my problem is to not use Basic. Now that we're past that, I do have some issues I can't figure out.

1. Whenever I have program windows that are open, but not maximized to the screen, the border flickers. It does it with things like the calculator and the control panel too. It's annoying.
2. My start menu doesn't work anymore. It opens when I click on it, but then if I go into all programs and click a folder it closes. Also closes when I click search or the arrow to choose shut down, etc...

Any ideas?

Wow, this is obnoxious. Just fixed it myself. I removed my Sandisk flash drive just to see if it would help, and it did. I don't get it. Oh well.

you´re welcome :)
you see posting in the hardforum really helps!!! :p

There's nothing wrong with Vista Basic. It just doesn't have the Aero interface and a few built in programs. Technically it's the same as Ultimate.

If you want, right click desktop, Personalize -> Display Settings ->Advanced-> Troubleshoot then see if you can press Change Setting and turn down hardware acceleration and see if that effects it.

Meh, it's much, much closer to Home Premium, which you can't join a domain in, either.
That's a feature of the program. That does not effect application compatibility or performance, which is what I mean by "technically the same as Ultimate". Someone posted here a couple weeks ago they "heard ultimate was better for gaming". I remember when XP came out people were saying to buy Pro over Home because it was better for games. It's just not true.
