For around 5min this program runs in the background opening 100s of files doing something. Why is something related to audio doing this. And how do I fix it. This kind of disk access cant be healthy all the time.

I searched google wasn't able to find any solutions.

How do you know it's the Audio Endpoint Builder? It runs under the same svchost instance as Superfetch, which is much more likely to be doing that in order to preload data into RAM to speed up starting programs.

Cause under resource monitor I see the PID and its showing many files.

Then I look in the services and audiopointbuilder has the same PID.

Anyway i'll look into superfetch

I disabled superfetch, i'll see if it impacts performance.

Started it back up found out that windows search was enabled.

On my system at the moment, because both Audio Point Builder and SuperFetch run under the same instance of svchost.exe, they have the same PID, 200.

You'll probably notice less hard drive access, but it may cause programs etc to start more slowly as it's not caching the data.
