I guess $179 is the cheapest to get Vista Ultimate 64? Does anyone know if there will be any type of price breaks soon?

I'm guess that it won't happen. XP hasn't really dropped much in price overall.

Doubtful, previous versions of Windows never really dropped in price, maybe $20 off here or there at stores during sales.

I interpret that to mean that he found Vista Ultimate 64-bit for $179 somewhere. Where did I misinterpret that?

I meant, what version as in Retail, OEM, Academic, etc?

It's been a while since I was on Newegg looking at Vista and, last I looked, Ultimate OEM was $199. I see the price has gone down now, so I guess I've answered my own question.

Well, Home Premium Upgrade was £149 in the UK but now seems to be falling to £100 at retail stores.
