Vista 32 Bit Sound

Just recently got my sound system hooked up which is an Onkyo tx-8222 2 channel stereo, with some regular stero speakers I had laying around. I started playing some music with them and everything seems to be going great until like 45 seconds in I just a 2-3 second spot of stuttering. I noticed my cpu level jumps a little and maintains when this happens, then when the stuttering stops if falls and continues on playing as normal.

So obviously I'm assuming its my computer, but why is it doing this? I was trying to look around to see if there was some problems with this Realtek sound card built into this motherboard, or if Vista is the problem for some reason. I didnt really come up with much doing that.

Anyways, if anyone has any idea what I can try to fix this problem please let me know. It's bugging me having little stops in the music.

Also if there is any other information you need to know to help with the problem feel free to ask.
 
1) check for driver updates for the Realtek chip
2) Also try the Vista SP-1 Beta download, it worked for me
3) If you are using windows media player for listening to music, try winamp instead.
 
Are you using a Raptor by any chance? Although you may have heard me say that the Raptor has no issues with Vista, I've noticed that when I'm doing any IO, my music will skip, and I believe this is only with my Raptor. I think my WD5000AAKS was OK (for the time when I had Vista installed on it).
 
I checked for driver updates to the Realtek and it states that it is up-to-date.

I found what I think is the SP-1 download, but if you could post a link of the actual SP-1 download just to clarify, that would be great!

I used Winamp and it also has the same effect.

Im using a normal Seagate actually

So I managed to install the Vista Service Pack 1... but turns out it didnt help. I'm out of ideas.. anyone else have any ideas?
