I was going to pick up a 5870 from Best Buy because the Visiontek is the same price as Newegg, but it has been out of stock for a while now. Checked Newegg and its OOS there too. Something up with Visiontek? I would rather use BB for the reward zone points but dont want to wait around if there is no chance of them coming back in stock.

They've gone belly up in the past, they may have again *shrug*
Could just be lowish supply, highish demand.

Higher-end AMD GPUs seem to regularly be in short supply at BB (the two brands they stock are Visiontek and XFX); it is surprising to find even HD5750 or HD5770 on the shelf at the three closest locations to me (Waldorf, MD, Washington, DC/Tenleytown/AU, and Pentagon Centre, VA), and the only reason that *Rockville, MD* manages to keep them in stock is because there is a MC literally *right down the road* (two blocks south on the opposite side of Rockville Pike) that has better pricing. The budget parts stay in stock, though (and depending on what you are going to use them for, Cedar isn't exactly a bad bet for a lot of uses, including gaming, which marks the first time since the days of R4xx that a sub-$80 AMD GPU has overperformed its category).
