CompUSA has the 10% off any 1 item (excludes notebooks, computers and HP/Compaq products) today and tomorrow. In-store you need the coupon, but online it's automatic on check out. The press release on the top right of www.visiontek.com says that the 9800XT and 9600XT will get HL2 free when it's released.

card

$199.99 - $20 instant savings - $10% ($18) - $30 MIR = $131.99. Shipping for orders $150 and up (pre-rebate, post-discount) is just $0.01.

OOS online now. It's strange how CompUSA winds up with pretty hot ATi video card deals sometimes.

how does the 9600XT compare to the 9800 or 9800 pro

That's a shocking question since this is a hardware site and that info is available in reviews printed on the front page. :p

The 9800 (325MHz)/9800 Pro (380MHz) are both the R350 core with 8 pipelines, 256 bit memory bus (9800: 580MHz, 9800 Pro: 680MHz) and a higher price tag.

The 9600XT is the RV360 core (500MHz) with 4 pipelines, 128-bit memory interface (600MHz) and a lower price tag.

As you can see, the 9600XT has about 1/2 the memory bandwidth of the 9800 non-pro (9.6GB/s vs. 18.6GB/s) and only does about 77% of the amount of work per clock cycle as the 9800 non-pro.

The 9600XT and 9800 are in different price segments so you wouldn't really compare the 2 as equals anyways.

is there a code for the 10% off and anyone got a link to the MIR???

Did you ever hear the saying (on repeating history) "the first time is a tragedy, the second time is a farce"?

READ THE THREAD.

Don't shoot me but...

Compusa is giving away $10 gift certificates for singing up
for a 90day trial of AOL (insert flame here) just dont forget to cancel it.
$161 toatal out the door with tax -$30 mir

ps, just looked at the card, they don't use bga memory(square)
on these.

Yeps, the CUSA that I work at still has tons of these 9600XT. Use that 10% and add the 10 dollars Gift Certificate from AOL, and you got yourself some crazy ass deal.

K4D261638E-TC33 Max Frequency 300MHz 600Mbps/pin SSTL_2 66pin TSOP-II

as per Samsungs specs.

what are the speeds of other 9600xt rams, I was sure it was above 300mhz.

edit- looks like some are 300mhz and others go as high as 337.5

does the visiontek version not have s-video?

also the rebates are only good for the visiontek model and not the ati version correct?
