A new and improved virus has been detected that not only has a built in keylogger, but can actually steal data from an SSL stream. This is some really scary stuff.

This version of Gozi also has a new keystroke logging capability for stealing data, in addition to its ability to steal data from SSL streams. According to Jackson, the keystroke logger appears to be activated when the user of an infected computer visits a banking Web site or initiates an SSL session. It is still unclear how exactly the keystroke logger knows to turn itself on and capture information, Jackson said.

Anyone know which AV packages have incorporated the signature to detect this? I"m currently using AVG, but I've got an old license for Norton. I always get a clean bill from AV software (regardless of what I use), but if this one is undetectable, and it doesn't require me to d/l an attachment (I don't think they said how it was distributed), then I need something that'll detect it....just in case ;)

AVs are not reliable, nothing beats reformatting your computer every six months.

However I recommend prevx1.

Well, it's a trojan so you would first have to be dumb enough to install it.

Beware, running N00dBr1tn3y5p34r5.jpg.exe might not be a good idea.

oops no wonder my computer is having problems..., Just kidding:D Im not that stupid hehe. Yea it is pretty scary stuff hopefully norton and/or other anti virus companies can find a way to get rid of that.

What is somewhat alarming is its ability to grab data out of a SSL stream. My AV has the proper update thankfully.

This has to be one of the most sophisticated viri/trojan ever come across yet.

In other news, the Surgeon General announced today that the best way to prevent testicular cancer is castration ;)

I've never heard of prevx1 before. Guess I'll do a web search.
