We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.

Ok i didnt know which forum to post in so i decided to post here. Anyways recently i got this virus from AIM. It works like this: One of your friends messeges you automatically(caused by the virus) and it says something like this "Should i put these pictures of us on myspace/facebook?"
When i clicked on the link it downloaded some file on my PC and then stupid me even clicked the file and i guess it installed a virus....anyways i dont know what it does but my pc has been acting funny lately. I ran adaware and spyware but couldnt find anything....
If any1 has encountered this virus before and knows how to deal with it please help me out. Or atleast suggest a good free anti-virus program.

Thanks for your help.

Have you run a virus scan? That's probably the first thing I would do if I suspected a virus. For free antivirus - is AVG still free? I haven't needed in a while so I'm not sure. There's also trendmicro's housecall.

Free online scan at Kapersky
Free online scan at TrendMicro
AVG still has a free edition, although its detection rates aren't as good as others
Avast is one of the best free ones....slows down your PC a bit though
Antivir is another free one...manual scanner, strong detection rates, have to stay on top of updating it
CA eTrust is free for 1 year at Microsoft....good protection, decent updating
Bitdefender has a free manual scanner
