I want to be able to have (right now with my current hardware) 5 virtual CentOS "Clouds/VPS/Servers" (whatever is trendy to say now). I will be able to allot 2 real intel cores w/hyper-threading, and 8gb RAM each while keeping 2 cores and more than 8gb RAM for the main OS/virtualization software side. I already have the hardware.
Goals
As of now sharing the 1Gig LAN connection between all instances. Data is on same server.
I've only used places like Linode, RackSpace Cloud, DigitalOcean, AWS, etc... and now want to control some of my own
Educate me on my options, and pros/cons of going that way please.
If spending 500$+ provides me much more control let meknow which software/why and I can research that a lot more.
Goals
- Cost: $0 to VERY affordable <$500 ideally for what's required to virtualize.
- API needed to create/destory instances (Web control required too.)
- Monitoring/Stats API or Resource Page/Admin a plus
