So I decided to try and install the 64-bit version of Windows 7 in VirtualBox, i'm using a 32-bit host. Supposedly running a 64-bit guest on a 32-bit host is "experimental" with version 2.1.
Anyway I have a e6420 which supports Intel Virtualization. My motherboard supports it and it's enabled in my BIOS. I created a new VM in VirtualBox and selected Vista 64-bit, you have to select a 64-bit OS for the 64-bit guest to work properly. VT-x , ACPI, IO-APIC were enabled. Started the install procedure, loading files, and...my system locked like a drum, host, everything. Rebooted the system, tried again...same shit.
Anybody else encounter this with the new version of VirtualBox?
I installed Windows 7 32-bit version without issue.
