virtual pc sp1 64bit and 64bit server 2003 guest

i installed virtual pc 2007 sp1 64 bit on my vista 64 laptop, then attempted to install server 2003 64bit and it told me that the host OS was only running on a 32bit platform.

after muckin around with it for a few hours i gave up and installed virtualbox.

has anyone else run into this problem? are 64bit guest operating systems not available on virtual pc 2007 sp1 64 bit?

haven't tried this yet. I only use virtual PC for relatives needing to run XP inside of a vista host.

Nope - Virtual PC does not support 64 bit guest operating systems. :~)

The only Microsoft virtualization (I'm aware of) that will run a 64 bit guest is using Hyper-V with Windows Server 2008.
