Virtual machine hangs on bootmenu

Hi!

I have a ESXi 5 (with latest rollup) used at home.
I have one VM running Ubuntu 11.10 and sometimes when it is restarted it hangs on the boot menu (grub). To get it to boot I need to open the console and hit enter.
Sometimes it boots without the need for me to press enter on the menu.

Any ideas on why the VM sometime hangs on the menu and how to solve it?

God I miss LILO conf files... /me shudders.

Anything in messages for the guest?

Looked att syslog and dmesg after a boot but can't find anything special.
I've tried to reinstall grub, whithout any difference.

When the server hasn't been nicly shutdown or restarted it waits in grub menu.
If the server hangs and I need to do hard shutdown it waits in grub menu.

Any more ideas on how to solve the problem?
