I've recently been lamenting the long time ago loss of all my old gaming stuff from when I was a kid. It started small and then got much bigger - my spending that is - and now I have most of it back. I've attached pictures of my vintage game collection. Actually, it's just pics of systems and not any of the associated games although I spent way too much on those too. I'll also be picking up a turbo grafx on Thursday and maybe a 3DO.

I figure if I spent this much time and money rebuilding my collection I ought to show it off a little. Feel free to post yours as well.

Again, I've just started collecting again. I hope to have my collection be much more comprehensive at some point and it has some pretty big holes in it right now. I'll pick up some more later this week and post that once it's cleaned up. Please bear with me.

Nice collection. I made a similar thread a while ago. It might be worth merging this one with that.

Do you actually play the games though? ;)

I'm not to found of the Generation NEX to be honest.

we just plugged one of my roommates snes into our nice 40in widescreen. we've been playing megamanx and nba jam all day haha. later on this week we'll make a stop to the mall and try to pick up some decent snes games

I remember kicking little kids off the dreamcast kiosk back when babbages (lol, are they even still around?) first got it, I used to be an asshole :(

That DS don't look very retro. :D

Edit: You're missing this though.

one of the few things i have that is retro. xD

EDIT2: What the fuck? I edited my original post and a new one shows up? I hope it doesn't happen this time too.

Nice.
If I ever run across one of those I'll pick it up but as is I have the master system 1 and the power base converter both of which can play all the games. The master system 2 doesn't have the card slot and so cannot. There were some decent card games I plan to pick up...
The 3d glasses needed the card slot to function and so the master system 2 cannot play any 3d games either...

I cut my video game teeth on a friends master system.

I remember two games the most, Shinobi and some game with a car. The car game was a lot of fun, I remember it vaguely and there being upgrades (by driving into trucks maybe?), and at some point I think you got wings and could fly around...I think it played from a top down view. Anyone know the car game I am talking about? I was thinking about buying a master system and shinobi + this mystery car game to relive some old times :D

HERE

Check out the screen shots. I believe that's what you're looking for. BTW, that's a sega van you dock with, not a truck. You collected letters to turn into a sports car and then a plane.

Wow, SUPER SCORE... memories.

And I can't believe you have Night Trap for Sega CD.. could you get us some gameplay footage?

Like video? I'm not sure how to host that but I sure can as I have a video capture card in my desktop if anyone can host it...
This particular version is for the 32x cd (it requires a 32x as well as a sega cd to play) so it's much higher quality than the sega cd version.

ur all spoiled,

til 9 years old, i live on post-communist Ukraine, and the only system i had was a pirated sinclair spectrum (yes PIRATED hardware)

games kicked ass tho

KaCHING!

Awesome, I would have never come up with that on my own, thanks!

Nice collection. The SMS was my first console experience at a friend's house. I still remember the feeleing from beating double dragon in co-op mode.

Man, the US SNES just looks fugly compared to the Euro version with it's sumptious curves and colourful joypad buttons.

Yeah, well all our genesis/sega cd/32x stuff looks MUCH better.
Also, the master system didn't do nearly as well here as it did in Europe, FYI.

OMFG!!!
A Dream Cast Play thingy!
Jesus Christ you are a lucky bastard.
Sigh, I wish I had one, my DC deserves a stand like that, such a great console. I have an NES, Genisis, Neo Geo, Saturn, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360 I am looking to get the others like the master system and Sega CD and what not. I love vintage.

Actually, the sega stuff looks the same as the euro stuff. The only difference on the Genesis/megadrive was the name and the plastic around the socket, which prevented US carts fitting in a Euro machine. The Mk1 Sega CD looks a bit different as well - iirc the euro one had a smaller drive door. All the mk2 equipment looks the same as I remember it being.

i wish i still had the pics of my collection on my site. Ill have to take pics when i get my digital camera back. Here is a little run down of my collection

THis is great for Sega Stuff. Good for figuring out the Great Games from Sega CD era.

Joe

Hmm, I just had a (really) quick scroll through the Master System history bit, and it said the Master System II didn't have a built in game? That's a load of bull. Well, at least for my MSII, I have Alex the Kidd built into it. ^_^

Oh, and those 3D glasses look pretty damn cool. xD

Disagree. The euro stuff had hideous red buttons and markings. Totally destroyed the image. Hideous.

My newest acquisition. The first 16 bit console with an 8 bit CPU. I think the cover on the back is hillarious. I just love how you have to remove it just to plug the AC adapter in and then snake the cord through the shell.
I also love how there's only one controller port and it's so poorly made that it doesn't even sit flat with the console...
I also picked up some master system and NES games and 3 turbo grafx games...

Alright. I'll do that the next time I have some days off. That'll be....well I'm working the rest of Feb but I should have some days off in early March.

Does anyone have any idea what kind of connector that is on the back of the TG? Is that SCSI?
The controller port seems to be the same connector that ancient keyboards use or the one that the genesis 1 uses for video out....

It's way to hard for me to dig out all my classic game systems. But the power glove is sweet I tells ya'.

Thats alot of stuff I think I have about that much, or had that much it is in boxes someplace...

My dad's ex gf donated my Comador 64 and Comador 128 not too long ago to charity or some crap, I dunno why it's not like anyone could actualy have a use for that stuff :( :(

I know for sure SI still have that Intellivision NES SNES N64 and Sega CD (large one) someplace...Want to buy my old junk? hehe

I also have the ORIGIONAL Pong, somewhere in storage, the one with the 2 controllers you hook to the TV that are the game itself.

I don't think my intellivision works, but im pretty sure Pong does.

PONG 4 the Win!

I will have to go visit the parents in San Diego and go take a look :) All I know is I have the stuff listed above.
