Viewsonic VX922 LCD

Hello.
I recently purchased a Viewsonic VX922 19 inch LCD display. When i go into dispaly properties>settings>advanced>monitor it shows a max refresh rate of 60 Hertz and i tought this monitor supports up to 75 Hertz. If i remove the check mark in " hide modes this monitor cannot support" it gives me 75 Herts max refresh rate. If i enable this will it damage my display?
I am confused cause i also have a viewsonic VX2235wm 22 inch lcd display and i know for sure the refresh rate max on this monitor is 60 Herts and that is what it shows without removing the check mark under " hide modes this monitor cannot support" but i figured on the vx922 it would show me more options for my refresh rate instead of just 60Hertz?
Is it maybe because i am using different video cards on both computers? The vx2235 is powered by an nvidia 8800gts and the vx922 is running on a radeon xt850 card.
Im just concerned on going higher then 60 Herts on my vx922 and causing damage to the dispaly.

thx for help in advanced

I run at 75, don't worry.

You could never change a setting on a monitor and damage it... it simply wouldn't work... then you wait 10 seconds and it'd go back...

I don't know why they block it, but I run at 1280 x 1024 75hz for all my games... zero problems... no dead pixels... I love this monitor

Install the viewsonic driver, mine came up and identified the monitor properly and thus had the 75hz option.

My quesiton is have you compared the image quality to other lcd's? I'm not overly impressed with the backlight. This is one of those products taht would greatly benefit from LED backlighting. The blacks are grey at best, sigh, what we have to trade off to get fast refresh... I'm running 8800GTX's in SLI and tearing at 8ms was too much for me to stomach... these screens are fast, no doubt!

These screens are for people who hate LCDs because of the refresh rate, we don't buy them for image quality ;)

I almost want to go back to a CRT... almost...

I noticed my first tearing yesterday, I'm guessing it may have been a FPS transition point between a high 90fps area to a low 30's, but wow.. that little rip was noticeable... These very rarely occur, and I wonder how much these LCD's have to warm up it was within the first 5 minutes of use.
