Wow! This monitor is such a kick butt monitor I decided I'd make a post about it. Got it for Christmas (wow, great present!) from my wife (well, I sorta directed here a bit, lol).

Picture Quality is outstanding, you have to turn the brightness down a bit I think, to about 60 from it's 100 factory setting, contrast seems about right at 50, i'd be interested to hear anyone else's settings. I ran display mate and it's just about perfect from the factory/settings wise.

The glass front/reflection issue: This isn't an issue for me, as I'm in a controlled lighting room and it's typically quite dark. I can see how in an office environment this could be more of an issue (as you could see your reflection in the monitor if you had a dark background on it). As you've read, the benefit of this is better color saturation in the monitor.

Portrait mode: Comes with pivot software and the fact you can turn it to portrait mode is cool thoough I don't htink I'll be using it much till whole libraries get uploaded (I could be wrong).

DVI and Gaming/Response Time:
The dvi interface is nice, except the OSD flashes DVI at boot up between every screen, don't know how to disable this. **The 12 ms response time leaves no room for ghosting and I've played HL2, Far Cry, warhammer and riddick (everything but Far Cry is still installed on my system) and the image quality is just fricking incredible and I love playing at 1280x1024 anyway so I won't miss higher resolutions (or lower). However, I did drop it down to 1024x768 and I thought the interpolation was great, even at lower resolutions like when riddick first installed (I think that was 800x600) I thought the image looked fine.

I ran dual monitors with my old Sony 21"E-540 Triniton
Display to check the differences and I knew there was a difference but I couldn't believe how much a difference there was. The old monitor just looked so dull and like there was a screen over the desktop, even after increasing brightness and contrast from my old settings (which I thought looked quite good).

After seeing the difference, I would NEVER go back to a CRT. This monitor is a steal at 600 bucks which I paid, but I think it can be had for lower if you use someone besides newegg (for me, not likely, heh). just my .02.

Settings and thoughts from other owners would be great! :)

Mine leaks light on all 4 sides. It's not severe but you can see it on dark backrounds. Also the vertical viewing angle is too narrow compared to my samsung 910t. Otherwise is a great lcd. I use 50 for brightness and 25 for contrast, as i work 9 hours a day to prevent damage to my eyes from the superbrite whites. Enjoy.!

ah, i think i notice that too, now that you mention it didn't notice it before. I really don't mind too much, but that is weird, kinda like a off-white banding around the monitor? odd...anyway, so much better than my crt and great for gaming I'm not complaining. Color is great. I'm trying a lower contrast right now see how I like it can't tell much difference at 25-30 as opposed to the defaults. Wish there was a numerical display to tell me what actual setting is instead of just marks on a bar. OSD sux.
