Viewsonic VP201S LCD Problems - Need Advice/Help

I recently bought a Viewsonic VP201S. I love the LCD overall but have one major complaint is that it motion blurs way too much in games FPS and non FPS types. I bought this monitor based on all the glowing reviews in the big main thread and other sites. People mentioend no ghosting and looks perfect in games, etc.. I noticed this problem instanly when playing games.

Here is a thread I found for future explanation on the "motion blurness".
http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=775081&highlight=lcd+refresh

Games are played at 1600x1200 except for a few that are 1280x960.

SW: Gaxlaxies - Blur city, have to stop rotating camrea to read names.
SW: Battlefront - Blur city, can't focus on targets
Farcry - Not too bad
Doom 3 - Look at a locker container for best example and pan left n right slowly, text blurs
Tribes: Venagence - Not too bad
UT2k4 - Blurs alot
Call of Duty - Blurs alot
WoW Beta - Same as SWG above

I dunno what to do, maybe I need to adjust something? Possible Driver? Brightness is set to 50% and Contrast is 70% of the max sliders. Still blurs no matter how much I adjust those.

I REALLY don't want to go back to a CRT. But my only choice is to live with this LCD as is OR buy the new 19" 12ms Viewsonic LCD. I read a review on it frmo gamerpc and they really didnt test games on it or explain much versus other LCD's. Would there be a signifigant reduction in blurness from a 16ms to 12ms screen? One major problem I have with the 19" 12ms Viewsonic is the very reflective screen. The VP201S has NO reflection at all.

I'd hate to give 1600x if I did get the 19" LCD. That is a major drawn back. If anyone have ideas or suggestions or wants me to test stuff etc. Let me know. I need help and this is the best place for it :)

-Thanx

I noticed the same blurring.
If you game to just have some fun, stay with it. If you game competitively, stick to CRT or wait for sub-10ms LCDs to come out/come down in price.

I use the VP201 as well as the Viewsonic A90f+ CRT. Whenever I'm scrimming or anything more important than pubbing, I use the CRT.

Note: there are games that it performs PERFECTLY on - CS:Source for example. It's just unfortunate that the games you play blur so badly :(

I dunno how you can say it doesnt blur, its very obvious, same ona dell 2001 it ried today..

are you using the DVI or analog connection, i'm using DVI with a 6800gt.

0 blur or ghosting in any of those games.

It’s still hard for me to understand how the same monitor playing the same game can be that radically different to different people. I can understand someone noticing slight ghosting or some blur and others not seeing it, but this much difference suggests that the problem might lay elsewhere.

I don’t see the difference between .12 or .10 making that big of a difference especially when so many people game just fine on .25 rated monitors.

Just food for thought.
