Viewsonic VP191 17" Equivalent?

Does Viesonic make a 17 inch "version" of the VP191? I woudl love to get one, but it's a little more money than I wanted to spend, so I figured if there's a 17" based off the VP191 it'd be cheaper.
 
Yeah, I figured that too. Does anyone here have experience with the 171 and 191 that can comment on the quality of the 171 in comparison to the 191? I'm assuming that they're both the same type of panel(not sure, confirmation?) Other specs look similar as well, just looking for someone with first hand experience to confirm($319 is much closer to my pricerange than $400+.)

Edit: I have heard that sometimes a portion of the screen will appear brighter than the other half(like the top will be brighter than the bottom, or left brighter than the right). Anyone see this firsthand?
 
VP171 is NOT a VP191 in smaller casing, VP171 use AUO TN panel. which mean lower viewing angle, lesser color--6 bit + dithering and overall lower reponse time than VP191.

in other word, the features that make VP191 one of the best 19" LCD, arent found on VP171. as 17" LCD is going mainstream, the price has to go down so almost all the 17 inchers are using TN panel, to save cost. you might wanna try Samsung as their TN panel has better color than AUO's. e.g. Samsung 713N.
 
Ah that sucks. Are there any 17" LCDs that use the same kind of panel as a 191(can't remember what it's called, the non-TN.)? 19" would be nice but I can't justify spending $430 on a 191, maybe a nice deal will come along sometime in the next 3 weeks when I buy my monitor, like $150 mail in rebate, lol. So, anyway, are there any 17" LCDs that would be similar to the 191?
 
The VP191B uses a P-MVA panel, but the thing which makes it good for gaming when compared with other VA panels is that it is overdriven. There are very very few 17" models which don't use TN Film, but there is the Samsung 173P which is based on a PVA panel, albeit a slow 25ms one. Iirc Samsung are updating this to an overdriven PVA panel for the 173P+, but no sign of that on their site yet. If you want non-TN Film, you would be better looking at the 19" market
