Viewsonic VP171B responce time?

I am looking to buy a VIEWSONIC VP171B pannel, i have been researching it and it seems to be a really nice model.

One thing that confuses me is the responce time, some sites call it a 16ms moniter, others call it a 8, i heard there were two versions, i assume the VIEWSONIC VP171B is the 16ms and the VIEWSONIC VP171B-2 is the 8ms, am i correct?

Also does anyone have any comments on this moniter? I was looking at this one was well as the Samsung 730b and NEC 1770NX.

The NEC 1770NX gets great reviews at FS, but i havnt seen a review anywhere else yet, does anyone have this moniter? Any thoughts on this moniter or the Samsung?

I hope to have a ncie 17inch moniter ordered soon, just a matter of sorting all the choices out.
 
yah your correct i have a viewsonic vp171b-2 has a true 8ms responce time.
its a great monitor, movies look crisp and such along with gaming

i ordered mine from newegg, and it runs flawlessly like zero ghosting sadly the monitor arrived with 1 dead pixel, though i am able to rub it out whenever it comes up, but only does once in a great while, its at the bottom left corner of the screen so i dont even notice it even when its there, only if im looking for it or randomly glance at that corner of the screen.
 
ok cool, i think i will be ordering it from NCIX since im in canada, if i spend a extra 20 bucks i can get a zero dead pixel 30 day garentee :). If it does happen to come with even 1 dead pixel they pay to ship it back and send me a new one. Mabey something to consider. How do the colors look on it? I heard 8ms moniters had reduced color quality?
 
Keep in mind ViewSonic is releasing their 4ms units this month or next.
 
I wonder if the 4ms models will have a very hefty price tag like this moniter did at one time. I also wonder if color quality will take hit at all.
