hey does anyone else out there have this monitor? i was just wondering kus im about to order 1.

really im asking if the display looks grainy and stuff and has backlight problems n such.

also wondering how good bright 300cd/m2 brightness factor is with a 500:1 contrast ratio, this will be my first lcd monitor, since im finaly deciding to switch from a crt.

poor little crt has had better days, the picture has dimmed so much and the monitor is arching behind the screen and making a scarry zapping noise every so often :(
so i guess its time to retire this monitor to the sledge o matic and finaly the garbage heap

It's a fine LCD, It looks great on DVI. But now I wish I had the 201 since 1280x1024 doesn't seem like enough now :p There is a little bit of a backlight problem on mine at the bottom, I don't know if they're all like that.

probably pretty crappy since it's a TN+ panel with dithering. My L90D+ is a TN panel and DVD's are watchable, but not very "clean"

I watch DVDs on it all the time. There probably are better, but I'm pretty happy with it

I use 2 of these for dual screen and i Love them, they were the best at the time, paid 500 for each and now they're what? 300 at best?

still very worthy imo

Just picked up two of these from newegg. I love 'em, no dead pixels...Doom 3 and Half life 2 both look great...I have none of the back light probs I have read a few posts about oh and no dead pixels...the one thing I was really worried about. By the way I drive them with a dual DVI 6600gt...actually thought about getting a couple of the big Dell's but that would have doubled the price of my vid card because I would have had to buy a 6800gt to keep up with the 16 x 12. Anyways can't really comment on DVD's as I don't watch them on my computer. hope this helps...

This is slightly off topic. But if yo uare planning on smashing your crt yourself, becareful lol.

They can hold an electric charge for weeks. I found that out that hard way :(

Reminded me of when I used to work 1hr photo hut, and those damn instant cameras would shock me every now and then, when I would forget to to take an extra picture to make the last flash go off (well, much much worse then that)

this is the best monitor for 17", that meet all 4 requirement

less than 16 ms
higher than 500:1 contrast ratio
good cd/m2
dot pitch of 0.25mm or less
