Well I have recently aquired a 15" ViewSonic VE155b. Here is a link to the specs of the lcd. ViewSonic VE155b.
I got a great deal on this as it was free. I think the only thing that is wrong with it is the backlight is not working. It could either be that or an issie with the cable.
What happens when I plug in the monitor is you can see a verry faint image, you can make out lines and shaped from the background and startment etc. But you cant really get much other then that. Its a verry verry dark picture, all most like the contrast is turned down all the way when its set at max. I'm not sure if this is or could be the problem or not. If it is how would I go about getting replacement parts to fix it, I have no idea where to start. I did a quick search on ebay but didnt turn up any matches for the lcd.
The other posibility is the cable, how many pins should there be on the vga plug on the end, I count only 13 pins. The pin array is like so. With the comma being the missing pins.
I looked at the amount of pins and the missing pin on my standered crt monitor and it has 14 pins with one missing. So that gave me a thought as posibly there could have been a pin that broke off on the cable from some one plugging it in wrong at one time or another.
If you have any ideas as to what the issue could be please point me in the correct direction.
I all so think this lcd is still under warenty, it has a 3 yr limited warenty. But if it would cover this issue is the question.
