I have a P4 3.0E/MSI 865 chipset motherboard/Club 3D GeForce FX 5200. The problem is:
When I install the monitor from the CD Drivers or as a Default Monitor, when I right click on any video file, the screen goes black for 3 seconds then comes back, only video files! But when I install the Monitor as a Plug & Play monitor, this problem goes away! I find that really strange since the CD Drivers should be the best, and I notice that the quality of the screen is better, please find me a solution to use the View Sonic Drivers but eliminate the problem!

Ok, I downloaded the latest ViewSonic drivers from the website but that didn't work!

I formatted the PC and was able to narrow down the problem to this:

The problem appears to be with the nVIDIA Driver! coz the driver which is built into Windows, works just fine! only when I install the nVIDIA drivers, this happens! i tried many diff. versions but no luck! and i cant send them an email. they say on the website to contact the board manufacturer :(

This form is REALLY DEAD now! recently, no matter what I post! i dont get a reply

Reply from Club-3D:

Dear MaXimus,

This is an issue from the nVidia driver. Best is to use older drivers before 71.xx

nVidia is already aware of this problem and they are working on it.

you mean my GeForce FX5200 might not be compatible with my ViewSonic LCD?
I'm not sure. It probably is compatible. I tried to look up some help for you but could not find anything.
If nVidia is aware of this problem they should have a solution soon. Do you have the disc with the old drivers before 71.xx?

I do have it, but same result, what gives? :(

I'll ask a few of my buddies here at home for you and get back. Until then, I'm hoping someone else replies here.

I spoke to a buddy of mine and he said to try to update the video card now and see what happens.

what do you mean try to update the video card now man? you mean try to update the drivers? and if it was the drivers you are refeffing to, then why now? nothing changed, the driver version is still the same!

Please elaborate!

Sorry. My internet server was down last night and I couldn't get on here. As far as updating your video card drivers, I'm just relaying what a buddy told me might work. If it were me, I would use it as a plug and play because that works. I know you are frustrated but keep posting here and hopefully someone will help out.

i did try the driver update thingy as i stated in the beginning of this thread, and I lost hope, there is no one but you trying to help me!

the thing is, this monitor is for a friend, and he claims the image quality is better with the ViewSonic drivers rather than the Plug & Play drivers

You said it's only for video files, right? What program are you using to open the video files? Does the video play after the 3 second pause?

The reason I ask is because my Viewsonic does the same thing sort of and a window pops up that says "Digital". Then it plays fine.
