I originally wanted to get the P95F+B but here in Australia it's like $542.00 where as the G90F+ is $366.00.

Is it really worth the extra $176.00 and what are peoples recommendations? I considered the 930 SB but can't find it here in Australia so I'm settiling with one of the Viewsonics but don't want to spend too much.

Thanks

Yeah, but I don't live in the US.

Can anyone comment on the 2 viewsonics......Thanks.

I am using the P95f+b right now, and it's nothing special. I like my NEC much better (930SB). It's clearer and just...sharper

You could get the Diamond Plus 93SB, it is a Diamondtron 19" monitor available in Australia. I checked the Mitsubishi Australia website.

Edit: It is the same as the MultiSync FE991SB, in australia also. Both do 1792 X 1344 @ 68 Hz or 1600x1200 at 75hz.

Thanks.

Are the Diamond Plus 93SB/NEC FE991SB much worse than the 930SB? Would I even notice coming from using a normal rounded CRT?

Thanks....I'm leaning towards the 93SB.

Not too much, the only difference is max resolution, and the 930 can do 1600x1200 at 85, while the 93 can only do 1600x1200 at 75. Unless you run 1600x1200 (which you may, but to me, 75hz looks fine) then it doesnt matter. THe quality of image should still be the same between the two.

Most viewsonics have minor convergence issues around the edges and corners, my PF790 has it, my friend's P75F+B has it, and my other friend's P95F+B has it. But it's not that bad if you don't really care about image quality at super high resolutions.

Ok. What about the G90F+? Regardless of the viewsonic issues, how's that monitor?

I'd save like $200 if I got that one instead so I need to know.

donkey, the G90f has decent refresh rates but aren't as good as the P95f+'s, you might get blurry text if you push the refresh rates to its max advertised specs. G90f will have a sharper picture than the P95f+ (G90f shadow mask vs P95f+ aperture grille) but it's not as bright and flat. Anyways, you should be satisfied with the G90f.

What about the G90F+ compared with the Mitsubishi 93 SB and the NEC FE991?

I'm still prob. going to get the Viewsonic but is there much difference between the 2?

Thanks.

FE991 != 930SB. The 991 is a lower end model, very similer to the P95f+b, which I own, and dislike due to bluriness.. For 19" CRT's, the 930SB seems the be THE VERY BEST you can get, aside from spending more than you would on a decent LCD of a similer size (cough, Sony). The real difference between the 930SB and the 991/P95F+'s is the sharpness at 1600x1200. I bought this monitor because it could do the refresh rate necessary for any resolution (85hz) at the resolution I targeted (1600x1200), but the damn thing is just too blurry and thus I am stuck with 1280x1024. If that's enough, then you can save some cash. Otherwise, save up and get the best of the best, it's that simple. I wouldn't touch a lower end Viewsonic with a 10 foot pole; we are gamers here, and I am no exception.
