Now that I've had the opportunity to use it for several months now, a new quirk has surfaced. Lately, the remote has been giving me a lot of trouble. The most annoying problem is that sometimes, it confused Channel+ and Channel-. This can be maddening at times because if you want to channel surf, sometimes, you can't go in the direction that you want. That is, the remote will confuse channel+ with channel-, and inadvertantly start descending the channels instead of ascending them. What's worse, sometimes, the confusion is only one way so that both buttons are Channel+ or both buttons are Channel-. MADNESS!

To offset this quirk a little bit, I found out that the N4 can be programmed for whatever range you receive, so you don't have to channel surf past dozens of channels of static.

try replacing the batteries in the remote.

i've often seen my remotes get quirky like that when the batteries are getting low

I'll try that when I get the chance. It uses a lithium CR2025 battery which no one seems to stock. All I can find are CR2023's.
