ViewSonic G225fb

It might be okay.
Gonna have to agree that it "might be ok" since the viewsonic "G" series was a middle model, lower than their "P" series. Both the viewsonic G & P series varied in quality due to different revisions and internal parts used.

The NEC FE2111 that Android linked is a good overall monitor and it happens to come with a 3 year warranty, and it's being sold by an NEC subsidiary, worth every penny i'm sure. If $359 + S/H is too much for your pocketbook then take a look at these New Dell P1130 trinitron's going for $210 shipped. Edit: The P1130 won't come with a 3 year warranty but it's still new and will be leaps and bounds better than some used CRT, or even a new G220F. Don't pay any attention to the posted max resolution in that description, the P1130 maxes out at around 2048x1536 @ 75 or 80hz, or so.

I won't get into much detail here but i personally score the P1130 a 9/10 compared to the other 21" Crt's i've owned or used. A good combo of text clarity, color and graphics quality, high rez, easy to use control panel etc.

OP, that G220F you're considering, is it used? are you getting a good deal or something?

Yes, it could potentially be a good deal... Just trying to find a quality CRT for a low price.. I couldn't justify spending 200+ on any CRT, but if I can get a high end 21" at that range (about 180 or less), I'd be more than happy to throw the funds out there. :)

The G series is too hit or miss to be called "quality" imho (due to the reasons i stated above). The P220F model is better overall in case you run into one of those.

Otherwise if you intend to stick to that $180 price as a max, what i would do is hit up accurateit for a deal on a refurbished unit. If you are unsure as to what's good, or not, post it here and we'll let you know. Or you could search ebay's CRT monitor sections for a deal on a new/unused/leftover CRT monitor. Ebay isn't the first place i'd buy a refurbished CRT simply because everyone's definition of "refurbished" and "great condition" is different...

Ebay's two CRT monitor sections (search for "new")

Good luck either way

Actually, the 2111SB does come with a three-year warranty.
Ya, i was referring to the P1130 i linked, which does not come with a 3 year warranty.

3 year warranty + buying it from NEC directly = great choice imho
