I need to be able to access a number of headless systems via network access of some type. Ideally I would like to be able to access from a remote location over the internet. there will be 8-48 machines that need managed this way and it is possible to have one machine specifically configured to access these if that would help. I have seen some open source IP based KVM's that seem to work with all OS's but I don't know if it will work down to the Bios level.
The good thing is that I haven't purchased the hardware that needs to be remotely managed, so if it needs something special, that can be worked into the equation. I've heard that Intel vPro is supposed to help in this situation but it is a little unclear if it will actually do this.
Does anyone have experience with this?
