when looking for an lcd you would typically want a higher viewing angle size right?

Whats a good angle size for horizontal and vertical?

I wou;ld like to lay in my bed afar and not trouble my self with the sudden color distortion from viewing it at a different angle.

178 / 178 is a good viewing angle and is what i would recommend if you are going to be viewing from weird angles.

You will probably want S-IPS also so there isnt any color shift.

The quoted numbers are meaningless. Some manufacturers have even started quoting 90/90 or 180 degrees. Which is impossible no matter what the technology. Absolute marketing BS and nothing more. The important thing is panel type.

The closest thing to a CRT experience is an IPS panel. It has the best viewing angles and least tone shifting. If you are sensitive (I am) you may find TN and PVA/MVA panels annoying to use.

How you guys like how they went from 89 to 180? NEC tried to hold out and still say 89/89/89/89 which made sense quoting up, down, right, left from in front of monitor.. honestly I don't even know what 180 even means? I mean 180 degrees I'm sitting behind the monitor now and obviously could'nt see it..178 same thing. lame. Continued gaming of the LCD stats.

Anyway all monitor stats are BS except is NEC or Sony tells you them. Best thing to get is an IPS display no fade of image on head shift.
