Is there an app out there that lets you view/edit your RAM? (Vista)
Been searching for a while, but haven't come up with anything yet...

I just lost a huge amount of important typed text in a Firefox crash, and want to see if it's still floating around in my RAM somewhere.

Have you restarted or , you know, used this computer at all since the crash?

I would guess no, since Vista uses almost all the available ram for caching and what not, I would guess you would have had only a few second window to recover anything. Best bet is to pour liquid nitrogen into your computer after a crash so you have time to do a RAM dump.

I have 4gb RAM (Vista 64), so I was assuming there's a good chance the text would just sit in the RAM somewhere, as long as I didn't do any heavy computing to flush it out, and get it overwritten by something else...

Memory is protected in sectors. If Firefox crashes, that sector of ram is cleared, preventing the corrupt data from corrupting other data. It's the whole point of XP and why it's so much more stable than previous released.

If firefox.exe is still in memory, you can recover it with a memory edit, but thats about it.
