what card is gonna give me the best bang for my buck if i have a 200 dollar budget?
ive never heard of zotak, they have a 9800gtx for 199 on newegg
there's also a bfg 9800gtx for 209
i trust bfg, not sure about zotak. its worth the extra 10 bucks i think

should i not be looking at 9series? would an 8800 be better for the money?
ive been out of the loop for a while

HD4850 beats a 9800GTX in most games other than Crysis, and at higher resolutions and with AA.

What resolution?

If you absolutely must have an nVidia based card and you have to spend your entire budget, get a 9800 GTX+. Newegg is out of stock, but TigerDirect has it for $200 + shipping. Link

You'd probably be fine with an 8800GT as for up to a 24" monitor.

this is it http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814143149
the image says gtx+ but the description just says gtx, hmmm

but no definitely not tied to nvidia. like i said ive been out of the loop for a while, i guess i jusut assummed nvidia still had the "lead" because the last time i followed anything was when the 8800s were coming out and ati really had nothing compared to them
ill check out the amd/ati card, then

thanks

Good find, that is in fact another 9800 GTX+ and it's overclocked by the manufacturer too.

ATI currently offers better price/performance, but nVidia makes the most powerful single GPU card... it just costs ~$450

This article will give you excellent performance comparisons.
The prices have all changed since the end of June, but the cards are still the same.

You'll be able to look at GTX 260,9800 GTX, 8800 GT, and HD 4850/70s.

Me, I've alwats been an nvidia guy up until the release of the 4800 series. I have two 4870s currently and I think they are very nice.....can't beat the price either.;)

don't get a 9800GTX+. not worth it when there is a special for the GTX260 for 225 after rebate in the deal sections. at that price its very competitive with the 4870.

In fact I can't understand why they are even bothering with the 9800GTX+ at that price point. The 4850 is still faster and about 25% cheaper. the GTX260 whips it and can be had for 20 to 30 dollars more.

Zotac has been good to me for customer service and product quality.
