Im haveing a hard time trying to run doom3 that I just purchased...this is total bs ! I have a 8088 with a trident isa video card with 512k cache rev 2.0 the faster one. I have 4 megs of ram and a fast 20 meg hard drive. Anyways Im so mad cuz after upgradeing to a new cd 2x rom I cant even get the game to install it keeps giveing me a i/o error after installing 19megs of data. I called the hardware vendor and they said that I should upgrade my computer to experience the true doom3 effect. I just dont understand why I should have to upgrade my computer every 10-15 years... this is just wrong. Anyways back to the video problem... the problem is after the game starts to install... and the cool video install screen appears my system will freeze 1 out of 3 attempts. Sometimes It can show it for over 3 seconds but other times only 1 second and other times 2 seconds. I know this cuz I timed it with a stopwatch... Trident says they do not support drivers for this card anymore ... might ne1 tell me where to obtain the latest dx9 drivers for my video card ? And ya I think my hd might be kinda short on storage space but Im going to run this game as a virtual drive off my cd rom cuz its faster rotation speeds..... its a killer 2x cdrom. Anyways any input would be helpful and appreciated.
