Video Power Not Connected?

Welp, I got my new parts in and I assembled it all, Sapphire x850 XT dual DVI / VIVO, MSI Neo4 Platinum , A64 3500+ s939 Winchester, Seagate 200gb SATA with NCQ, and WD Raptor 74gig SATA.

Assembled it all fired it up and it keeps telling me the external power connector is not plugged in to the video card. When it is....... I've tried having the card on one rail with molex into the adapter and the 6 pin into the card. THen I tried it , molex - to adapter -to 6 pin on video card - to hard drive. Tried it a few ways and it still gives me the same message. Its probably got power from the PCIx16 slot so the fan does start up and it displays the message on the screen that the powers not connected... HELP pllzlzzzz help.
 
Thats actually a pretty nice setup. How much did it cost all together?
 
I know this is kinda of stupid, but have you made sure your videocard is totally IN the slot?

Yea the video card is fully in its slot. Thats why it does power on and I do get the "you need external power cable connected" crap on screen. I have a fortron 530w psu.

The parts I listed . forgot about the THermalright xp-90 But if you include the HSF those parts i listed totaled like 1400. But if you include the fan control, case, psu, dual layer dvd burner , memory, and monitor I bought a few months back ... you may want to add on about $1000 heh.
 
Well I even went back and double checked it to see if it was fully in the slot and it is. Still get the same stupid message.
 
Comment: Nice PC.

Suggestions: None. I tried to find out what I could but I guess this problem is relatively new? Sorry, I don't know what else you could do. You know what, try disconnecting the CD/DVD drives and one hard drive. Do a very basic barebone boot up. Configure your BIOS to put the AGP as the primary and somehow see if this works.

Edit: Uh, maybe you can't see the screen without plugging in the external power? :eek:

Welp I can see the screen without the external power connector . I tried to do a bare startup, that only gave me the same message. I guess I'll need to try a diff PCIe adapter. Gotta find a place to buy one. I wonder if there are any local ;\ . I'm not waiting even longer to get this working. This really is starting to piss me off ;\.
 
Problem Solved. Went out to microcenter real fast and grabbed what ever PSU I thought might be semi-decent with 24pin atx and 6pin PCIe connector. Just grabbed an Enermax Noise Taker 420w. It may not be a badass PSU but at least it seems to get the job done.
