i have had dual monitor setup for a while and always wanted to try to play a video over both screens is this possible or is it video card limited?

you can clone it? unless you are talking about panning it across both screens, last I remember I personally couldn't do it, but my memory is fuzzy so don't take my word for it.

yea playing one video over dual screens to make it really wide

Yeah you can. If you install a program like ultramon you really get the full benefits of having two monitors. I use it at work where I have a dual monitor setup.

i do have ultramon...but will it allow vido playback of "one" video player panned over two screens

If you are using a Nvidia card you have to go to your Nvidia control pannel and set up multiple displays. Set it as one large horizontal desktop(horizontal span). Then you can watch a movie spanning across both monitors. I am not sure about an ATI card.

how do u do this. im in the setup multiple displays but it only shows me my monitors no settings to manipulate

Go into your Nvidia control pannel and make sure it is set to view advanced settings and change it to like the picture below.

Uncheck "extend my windows desktop onto this monitor" under windows Display Properties. This should clone the second screen upon applying.
