Hi guys I have a problem with watching videos. When watching videos sometimes playback will pause for several seconds, the audio feed still plays and after 5 - 10 seconds the video catches up again. Its really starting to get on my nerves now as somedays it wont do it at all, and sometimes it will do it every 2-3 mins.

Specs

E8400 stock
4870 512 driving Viewsonic VX2835wm
Toxic 3870 512 driving Viewsonic VA2226w
Gigabyte X38 - DS5
Samsung Hj501 500GB hdd
WD 640 HDD
WD 250 HDD
Vista Ult x64
4GB Dominator Ram

Ive tried several things to fix the issue vid drivers, Hotfixes and reinstalling the video players but to no avail.

Oh if this is in the wrong place, sorry, just shift it to the right one.

All players tried so far. VLC 0.9.8 and 0.9.9
WMP
Media Player Classic
Nero

unsure on the formats will have a look this evening after work but I believe the only ones I regularly use are .avi

Use MediaInfo to find out file type, AVI is just a container.

Are the files on a local drive or network share?

FWIW, the only player you will ever need is Media Player Classic - HomeCinema from here: www.xvidvideo.ru. No where else has the most up to date versions.

Files are on local drives. Ill have a look tonight at the mediaInfo and try the mediaplayer out too.
