I have 30" Apple HD display that was working great with the 8800 GTX. I let my friend borrow the 8800 and replaced it with an Nvidia 8500GT 512. Popped the card in and installed the drivers and rebooted. The system turns on and runs but can't verify if it goes to the login screen for windows cause I cant see it. The monitor stopped displaying. I then rebooted a few more times, then it DID display temporarily but then it finally stopped displaying consistently. I checked all connections from the power to the adaptor and every thing is in place firmly. What is also strange is that my integrated lan ports on the mobo are no longer working either. They do not show up in device manager, nor do they show any status lights when I plug a lan cable into them. I know I am suppost to use the process of elimination here to troubleshoot the problem but not quite sure where to start since now i dont have any video to guide me. Any pointers?

get video in safe mode? I have same problem with gtx 260 and 280.. no video once drivers are installed... well it goes in and out constantly. thinking this is an nvidia drivers/digital connection problem. my 8800's work fine, so does a 4870x2.

so I was looking at my mobo and the system speaker was set to off, thus not beeping at me if there were any errors to be heard. So I changed the jumper from off to on and rebooted. Long behold, it beeped at me, one long and 2 short. After looking up award bios beep codes, it said video adapter error. So I removed the card and rebooted again and I get the exact same beep code with or without the adapter in the comp. Any thoughts?
