Video Editing Mac Pro

I am looking to get a new mac pro. I cannot afford to do the 12 core system and was wondering if it would be better for me and my editing (Final Cut pro, Adobe Premier, After Effects, Nuke, Maya) if I were to get a 3.33 6 core or 2 2.4 quad core processors?

What is the advantage to doing the 2 quad cores to the 1 6 core?

I was going to suggest a high end iMac until I saw Nuke mentioned, so yeah, you may be one of the few to really benefit from those Xeon cores.
