i had this problem for a long time. using msi pt880 neo-fsr mobo, and leadtek a6600gt card.

the only driver that seems to work is the 66.** driver.
when ever i install later versions of the nvidia drivers, the displays is seriously messed up. as in you cant identify anything on the screen.

and i cant play the splinter cell game bundled with the Vcard cuz it needs the driver update, but the only thing thats works is the version 66.**

i already updated everthing, except for the video driver cuz it wont work.

whats wrong with this

I sounds like you have a corrupted driver install. Use driver cleaner from the this link to remove the old driver completely. Make sure you only check Nvidia video drivers. Reboot then install the latest.

I find that I can only run the 71.84 drivers with my system and my A6600GT card. The driver bundled with the card should be enough to play Splinter Cell, if my memory serves me right I could play it before I updated the drivers.

But, if I use a later driver I get BSODs that point to n4disp.dll as the culprit. What chipset if your mobo? I know with mine (the K8T800 chipset) has some issues with the newer nVidia driver packages. It doesn't like having 1GB of RAM either, I'm currently running 512MB of RAM (not the 1GB in my sig) without problems, as well as the 71.84 drivers. All games run fine, no problems with performance or corruption. Go to the nVidia site and grab those drivers and give them a go.

the driver bundled with the card is version 66.** , and it need a driver update to run the game. chipset is VIA PT880-NEO series.

ive tried cleaning the drivers before cleaning, turned off the anti virus. same problem occurs.

is this the wrong section for this thread? where should this be properly posted.?

Have you updated to the latest VIA chipset drivers? Are you running the latest BIOS for your main board? Please list what you have tried so that can be eliminated.

like i said, ive updated everything, VIA chipset and drivers. including the mobo BIOS. to the latest version.

the same thing still happens.
