Ok.. I am idiot because I have looked all over the place for a fix, but can't find one. I have had this problem before and there was a simple fix, but I can't remember.. I switch between Nvidia and Ati too much. :)

Anyway.. here is my problem. Whenever I play a video: streaming, or on my hard drive the colors are all messed up- green and pink. All games play fine though, as well as regular old computer usage.

I have an X800XL BBA and the latest cats - 6.3 with CP and the net fix.

Any help for this very tired moron?

yep.. ONLY for videos. And I formatted between switches, I format regularly every month.

This sounds more like a software issue than a hardware issue.

Try un-installing every codec you have from your computer (any packs, divx, xvid, etc) then run a raw MPG and see if it still occurs.

I would reccomend you just use FFDshow to decode most of your video files, it's lightweight and plays just about everything out there.

I am leaning towards agreeing with you on this one, however I remember having a similar problem with my old X800 Pro and correcting it by changing the color settings in the CP somehow, but that was before the ultra-bloated new CP and it has changed majorly.

The problem with codecs is that there are soo freakin many of them. Everyone wants to use a different codec these days so you have to install all of them. I know I have FFDshow installed, as well as Divx, Xvid, and God knows how many more... its crazy.

Well I figured out my problem. I removed a program called "Viewpoint media player" and everything seems ok now, as the color has returned to normal. Kinda unusual.

BTW Does anyone else have the problem where streaming videos will load and then freeze, so you have to reload the page? This only seems to happen here at home and nowhere else for me.
