video cards and DVI

I was wondering why most video cards ( mid to high end) have only one DVI slot ( with the exception of XFX's cards, alot of them have 2 DVI outputs). I think it would be better to give the customer the choice of digital or analog instead of forcing them to use one digital and one analog.
