i'm decided between a 6600gt and a radeon x850 xt pe, i was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the two cards. like how noisy they are (i know high end cards have big fans), how much of the computer's power supply it consumes, and the stability?

first off, the X850XT will rape the 6600gt. and the X850XT is not loud at all. just at start up it make a loud noise. then it not noisy at all, not even when you play games.
