ok, i had problems with my old ati 9800 pro. went through tech support and everything. (rather not go into detail about that crap since is irrelivant now anyways) sent it back and they sent me a new one. just got the new one. plugged it in. installed the drivers. played around. random crashes to failed vpu recovery like the old one.
now, i've cleaned the registry and what old drivers (from my rollback radion 7200) i could find, used catalyst uninstaller and driver cleaner before i installed my current drivers and have been through all basic and advanced troubleshooting techniques i know to no avail, what i think it is now is that something new is perhaps conflicting with something old. i'm not entirely sure.
what i want to know is how can i check to see if there are settings/entries/files/whatever that could be causing this old/new conflict or WHATEVER it's doing. is there like a list that will show me what i need to check? or a program?
a link to my dxdiag.txt taken about 20 mins ago is at the bottom of the post. if anyone needs more program dump files i'll be more than happy to get them.
i'm taking all suggestions of what to check no matter how stupid and simple it may seem, because you never know i may be stupid and simple and missed it.
